Richard's Top Nutrition
Tips
• Limit the amount of refined and
sugary foods you eat. They make your blood sugar level fluctuate
(hyperglycemia), becoming unstable like a yo yo affect and this has
a direct affect on your over all energy levels and over time weight
gain.
• Always eat breakfast and a well
balanced breakfast. Avoid overly processed and sugary cereals and
drinks. A balanced breakfast helps kick start your metabolism for
the rest of the day and fires up the brain for all the thinking you
need to be doing in the morning at work or school.
• Eat small frequent well balanced
meals with high quality protein, unprocessed carbohydrates and
'good' fats to keep your metabolism burning. Imagine your
constantly fuelling a fire.
• Avoid overly processed foods
with too many artificial flavorings and additives. The body doesn't
really know what to do with all these chemicals and processed
nutrients and this can lead to lethargy and weight gain.
• Hydration is key and I don't
mean sugary or caffeinated drinks. Keeping the body hydrated
is like oiling a rusty machine. Ensure your consuming at least
2litres of quality purified water throughout the day, more if
exercising or working in a physical job or warm climate.
• Don't rush your meals, make your
eating time a period of relaxation and enjoyment. Try not to eat
standing up, on the run or at your desk during lunch. Chew your
food thoroughly, sit with others and come to the realization your
actually eating to fuel your body for the rest of the day.
