A few tips for an improved diet.

To avoid… :

  • Going on any drastic or 'crash' diets.
  • Cutting out carbohydrates from your diet (potatoes, pasta, rice, Quinoa, Bulgar wheat, bread etc).
  • Skipping meals.
  • Eating your evening meal just before going to bed.
  • Having heavy meals late in the evening.
  • Going on high-protein diets that promise drastic weight loss without having to change your eating habits.
  • Drinking too much alcohol. (beer, wine, spirits or liquor.)
  • Dishes in a lot of sauce. (Blanquette, carbonnade, chicons gratins, etc.)
  • Eating fried food often. (fries, croquettes, fish sticks, etc.)
  • Eating oil-based sauces every day, (with the exception of ketchup, mustard and pickles.)
  • Eating between meals.
  • Drinking fizzy or sugary drinks.
  • Cakes and biscuits.
  • Using too much oil or grease in your cooking (butter, crème fraîche with high fat content, oil etc)
